Through our visits to various doctors and nutritionists, our own research and experience we’ve found the following lifestyle, nutrition changes and alternative remedies have help control Cherise’s nocturnal (during her sleep) epileptic seizures:

  1. full body cold pressed sesame seed oil massage; left on for 20 minutes and washed off just before heading to bed done twice a week,
  2. avoiding the following foods: lettuce, spinach, peas, cauliflower, broccoli. These food stimulate the nervous system,
  3. By doing the ALCAT blood test we food Cherise had certain food intolerances(not allergies) which if Cherise eats the ‘banned’ foods she will nearly always present a seizure that night,
  4. Plenty rest and sleep,
  5. Cherise mild had food allergies – to gluten and lactose, red meat,
  6. Avoiding stressful situations,
  7. Avoiding caffeine and alcohol,
  8. Lots of water – minimum of 2 liters per day,
  9. Good multivitamin, at least 1 good meal replacement shake a day, calcium, lecithin/choline and/or omega 3+6 supplements.
